History:
Somewhere in the Scottish highlands was a tiny village. Jade had been trained since girlhood to take over for her mother who was the village healer. In the year 1348 the Black Death swept through her village, she did what she could to save them, even as she began to show signs of infection herself. But it was to no avail. One cold October night, she lay in her hut, covered in pustules, her body wracked with fever, her skin shimmering with sweat despite the cold air that blew through her broken down hut, an elder vampire appeared before her. She lay there, exhausted and too weak to move. The elder vampire looked her over and was impressed by this mortal, who had clearly done everything in her limited power to save her people and failed and was impressed that she still remained, even though she would not live much longer. He gave her the gift of eternal life that night. With her heightened senses, her grief overwhelmed her and drove her mad. Over the next decade she dabbled in necromancy, desperate to raise the bodies of her once beloved family and eventually she succeeded though some of the bodies of her loved ones were too far gone and her magic not yet strong enough to raise them.
With her new life, she devoted herself to finding a cure and only stopped working to feed or sleep when the sun would rise. Legends of a strange woman in a cave, of disappearances, and whispers of black magic would permeate the region but everyone thought of them as superstition, except for one. A rogue vampire had been passing through her territory and heard these whispers and decided that he would try to learn her secrets. Jade was not receptive to this, she thought any time teaching was a waste of valuable time she could be studying, testing her cures. This Vampire did not take kindly to being spurned and decided to go down to the local village and stoke the flames. He ran down to the tavern in what seemed to be a panic, and recounted his tale of the Woman in the cave, how he had seen her performing unholy magics, her undead abominations. That was enough to whip the villagers into a frenzy, they gathered their weapons, their farming tools, torches, silver and marched to her cave. They arrived and saw exactly what the stranger had described and quickly began to burn and destroy her lab and her precious raised family. She grabbed what little she could and fled the angry mob, the burning of her life's work and the bodies of her family filled her nostrils. This destruction of everything she held dear snapped her out of her madness and gave her focus. She would now devote her new life to inflicting anguish onto her enemies through poisons, disease and baneful magics.
She started to travel through Europe, rebuilding her knowledge base. Coming to understand that working with others benefits her in the long run and was not a waste of time but a boon. She founded House of Necrosis not long after. A banner for all those that share her interests to gather under, and compound and consolidate their shared wisdom.
